Thumbs up RtCW² Wolfenstein - Screens/Trailers & more...

First Screenshots of the brand new Wolfenstein™ Game

Quote:
With Quakecon 2008 in Dallas coming soon, all Eyes are on the Enemy Territory:Quake Wars Tournaments but that could change very fast cause now there are rumours about RtCW² being unveiled.

An very friendly Guy on the YoYoGamesForum managed to get his Hands on the GameInformer (an Magazine)which features a *World Exclusive* first look at the brand new Wolfenstein™ game, and being a nice & friendly Guy he scanned the Pages about the Wolfenstein Game for us. Thanks for that!

I like the look of it Don't judge it too hard since that are the very very first Screenshots of it.
Feel free to share your Opinions and Expressions about this Screenshots in this Thread.

Enjoy Watching

In this case TBA means that the authors of the article are unsure of the existence of a multiplayer part and had received no information about it, meaning it might as well not exist and is surely a minor bit compared to the single player part, on which the game is focused.

Everything Raven and ID have made has always been very multiplayer orientated, we can just hope this is the same... ;(
We have to wait for QuakeCon to find that out...

Quote:
id Software(TM) and Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI - News) confirmed at Microsoft's X05 event in Amsterdam that the newest installment in the legendary Wolfenstein® series is being developed for the Xbox 360(TM) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC. The companies also confirmed that Activision, Inc. will be the worldwide licensed distributor of Wolfenstein, currently in development by Raven Software and executive produced by id Software.

id Software's newest chapter in the legendary Wolfenstein series delivers players deep behind the enemy lines of a war-torn Germany, where Nazi experiments with technology and the supernatural threaten to turn the tide of World War II. Utilizing a revolutionary new graphics technology targeted specifically at next generation hardware, the new Wolfenstein experience will draw players into a world of unmatched exploration, action, and espionage.
Some more Information I've just found on the www:

* BJ (the hero) will also make use of supernatural powers.
* Game gives you a city in which the game takes place. Missions and quests take you through different parts. As you complete quests, more of the city opens up. Kind of a non-linear path.
* Set piece and randomly generated activity block your path.
* There is an AI resistance force that will assist you during the game at times. Think of the resistance forces in MGS4 I guess?
* You will also enter "The Shroud", an alternate reality version of the city. A dimension in which the Nazi's are drawing power from.

Screens wise, it looks like a very nice looking game. I'm particularly impressed by the lighting in the game. It looks very good. I'm sure scans will show up somewhere soon for everyone to see (now, that's not a hint that I'm scanning it. I'm not).

Those Screens used in this Magazine show the Singleplayer version of the new Game. RtCW Singleplayer had Monster crap and stuff too, but that wasn't included in the MultiPlayer. I doubt that this will happen now.

If theres no multiplayer, I'll probably pass on RTCW2. But, it looks like a decent game.

You're right, I had forgot that completely. But even if that was an aspect of the game, it still was in a basic second world war environment, at least the part of the game I played. And that's what I hope they stick to.

They will include multiplayer, if they dont they will be losing out on alot of money which doesnt make sense to me. So im quite sure we will be seeing multiplayer in rtcw2

Doom3 was a blockbuster because of its single player. The multiplayer was barely taken in consideration...It's not trivial to adapt a game designed to be SP to have a decent multi...

I totaly agree, and that's mainly why i didn't like much the SP version of RTCW, too much scifi..

I hope rtcw2 won't do same kind of story as his predecessor..

Hm, that's why i'm a bit affraid by the last pictures :/

But anyway i will download it and maybe buy it if MP is good :P

And even if it's again a WW2 game, with the rtcw/et:w models & graphics (that i love ) it will be fun to play on it

Why it looks COD-Like? I mean it also looks RtCW-Like. It also looks ET-like? Why? Simple: Cause the Screen shows an Player model in the look of WWII. CoD also plays in the WWII.

What do you expect from RtCW²? To look the same as ET or RtCW which is 5+ Years old? Games, Engines, Graphics are getting better and better each Year. For me all Screens, Trailers and stuff i've seen about the new Wolfenstein, just look like RtCW1 SP, there were monster shit and sci-fi stuff too. It's just RtCW with better Graphics.

I definitely will play this Game, cause it plays in WWII Scenario. I just hope that it will have such a fast Gameplay ET & RtCW had, that's all what Counts for me. Graphics and look of the Game is not that important, i hope they will stick to the fast Movement of ET (Q3) + the Maps won't be as big as the ones of ETQW. No vehicles. MapTime of maximum 10-12 Minutes, max. 2-3 Stages.

What do you think? What do you expect from RtCW²? What do you want to be changed in the new Game? I am sure all the unnecessary scifi stuff is going to get removed from the MP Part with any kind of Mods etc.
