Video card questions

Hey guys, I recently purchased a EVGA 9800GTX 512mb video card.

Which should apparently be much better then my 8500GT I had.

Well on ET, same results as for FPS. Always from 40-100 with ETH32. Haven't tried rsHook yet (fps will be WAY less).


Without a hack I get about 20 fps more, but still, don't you think 100 fps is low for a 9800GTX?


PC Specs:

AMD Phenom 9500 QUAD-CORE 2.2ghZ processor (alot of people are telling me this is the problem, but i wont buy another pc just for a cpu, theres gotta be another way

3GB ram


650 watt PSU (purchased in the same time as vid card (yesterday)


9800GTX


400gb hdd


20" monitor


Asus motherboard

BTW on COD4 max settings I get 60-100 fps.. pretty much MORE then ET ROFL... so WHy does ET always give me LOW fps?

Hmm seens littel problem but for cod4 is 150 fps or more dont know i have a 9600GT 1 gb that get 200fps in cod4 :P

i think that you can more fps lol on ET:Nvidia.com and update your drivers 9800GTX drivers and you are clear

Whats the name of the PSU? 650 W doesnt matter if you have an bad mark and then it sucked:P

ET was released in 2003 and wasnt optimized for those kind of graphic cards. If you really want to know what the difference to your old card is, then get yourself the benchmark program 3DMarks 06, run some tests and compare your results in the net with other people who are running the same card to see if you're doing okay.

And about your CPU, well the people who say that it would be the problem are right. ET doesnt support more than 2 cores and your clock speed isnt that great so you dont have to wonder why you dont get more fps since your quadcore cant work as fast as your new graphicscard wants him to. Always remember, quadcores are good for multitasking such as rendering movies, edit movies etc, but they do not give you an outstanding performance at games, dual-cores do way better there.

Fuk. And yes guys I did com_maxfps 999 and yes vsync is off, about the tests, mhmm idk what to do, but still its a shame because i have 90 stable on cod4 high settings ..

Cant edit post, but I did tests, Got around 36000. Which is pretty good. But yeah on COD4 max settings i'm fine, and stuff, I WAS getting video corruption and stuff, but I think going back to default drivers fixed it as i played 10 minutes no problem, but still 40 fps on ET with rsHook at some spots, even 30, its rediculous. I bought the card to get more FPS on ET, not cod4, as I was fine on COD4.. anyway atleast its a bit better. And the PSU name is a fairly good one, I checked it, I forget it though. I hope I can do something to get more on ET.

im on a amd6400+ 2 gig ram 4850 1gig 200+fps on cod4 maxed i can max out everygame so those quad core cpus are alittle ahead of games, nvidia new cards are not that much of a jump from that 8800gt

I also did it but get a good config or dl avg antivirus then i had 125 allways like now.

Minimize ET

go on processus
right clik on ET.exe
Assigne affinity
and check quad core
Maximize ET
